Allegro has decided to implement its first ecological parcel machines. The machines have already been placed in two locations, in Warsaw and Poznan, while the start of the service is planned for autumn. By the end of this year Allegro intends to increase the number of machines to 1500.

We are proceeding with the previously announced plan to build a network of Allegro parcel collection points and machines. We have already “planted” the first machines in Poznań and Warsaw, and in the coming days new ones will appear in Lodz, Torun and Wroclaw. We expect that in autumn this year we will achieve the appropriate density in these cities, which will allow us to add Allegro parcel machines to the delivery methods on our platform – said Grzegorz Czapski, Allegro business development officer. – According to the schedule, by December we will have provided customers with 1500 machines, and we are planning much more – he added.

In the first stage the company plans to launch a total of 3 thousand machines. Allegro assures that the machines will enable even faster and more comfortable parcel delivery. Currently 80% of packages reach consumers within 1-2 days.

Sustainable operations

The company is trying to manage in a responsible way, so all solutions are ecological and environmentally friendly. Namely, the machines are equipped with air quality sensors and are powered by renewable energy sources. In addition, the fronts of the machines are covered with a 10 m² wall of plants so as to minimise the carbon footprint and blend in perfectly with the surrounding landscape. The plants are to be nurtured and properly watered. In this way, the company plans to cover up to 21,000 m² across the country.
