Auchan e-commerce services are to reach Upper Silesia

Starting September 13th this year, Auchan Retail Polska will extend its e-commerce offer to more Polish cities, this time in the Upper Silesia region.
Until now, the e-commerce offer of the Auchan network was available only in Warsaw and Wrocław. Now, these cities will be joined by: Katowice, Zabrze, Bytom, Ruda Śląska, Chorzów, Siemianowice Śląskie, Świętochłowice and Mikołów.
In order to make it easier for customers to use Auchan’s delivery services, the formerly separate Auchan shopping platforms will merge into one under the address: zakupy.auchan.pl.
– Auchan has been present on the e-grocery market in Poland for over 10 years. Online shopping is a key element of our company’s business development strategy, which is why we constantly invest in e-commerce solutions. We are glad that now also the residents of Upper Silesia will be able to use this convenient and safe shopping path. Later this year, we want to extend this service to other cities. In the upcoming weeks, we are launching online sales in Krakow. Spurred by the pandemic, the e-commerce market in Poland grew by a record 45% in 2020 and reached approximately 15% of the country’s retail sales, according to a new report from PMR. Such growth is hard to maintain, and we forecast markedly slower e-commerce market expansion in the next five years, even under the most bullish of scenarios. Nevertheless, we project that e-commerce will account for more than 20% of retail sales already in 2023.
