Barbora.pl, an on-line grocery store owned by Maxima Grupe of Lithuania, the owner of, among others, Stokrotka stores, begins further expansion in Poland. After the recent entry into Silesia, it is now preparing to launch in Krakow.

Maxima Group, the owner of the Stokrotka chain operating in Poland, brought in 2021 to Poland the Barbora brand – one of the largest online grocery stores in the Baltics. The store offers food products and daily necessities. The company started in Warsaw and during the year expanded its reach to Lodz, Trojmiasto and Silesia. The total number of active Barbora customers in Poland exceeds 29,000.

According to the company’s representatives, Krakow is a natural stage of development, especially after the recent entry into Silesia and the launch of a new distribution center in Katowice in November 2021, from where food products, household chemicals, cosmetics, children’s items, and pet products will be delivered to Krakow. It is worth mentioning that the company also includes regional products in its offer, based on cooperation with local suppliers.

Barbora is in competition with such players as Frisco.pl, Auchan Direct or Carrefour.pl. The company, however, does not have its own network of stationary stores in Poland, but operates here in a similar model to Frisco.pl or Auchan Direct, making deliveries to customers from a special warehouse. Carrefour delivers its supplies partly from stationary stores and partly from special warehouses next to the stores. Barbora’s strategic partner and main supplier in Poland is the supermarket chain Stokrotka.

Barbora provides daily delivery of purchases to the customer’s doorstep from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm, also on Sundays. The store’s couriers deliver orders to the indicated addresses even on the same day. The minimum order value is 100 PLN.

The Maxima Group brings together retail chains in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Bulgaria and owns the Stokrotka chain in Poland.
