The Biedronka chain is expanding its cooperation with Glovo in order to broaden its offer with ultra-fast deliveries from dark stores. The chain’s customers in the six largest cities in Poland will now be able to receive ordered products within 15 minutes, with the new Biedronka Express BIEK service available seven days a week.

From 15 October 2021, Biedronka customers using the Glovo app will be able to use the new ultra-fast delivery option. The service is to be available in Warsaw, Cracow, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Poznan and Lodz, and its implementation will be possible thanks to 15 Biedronka Express micro-distribution centres and a special group of couriers responsible for fast delivery. Customers will be able to benefit from an offer of 1,200 products at the same prices as in stationary shops of the Biedronka chain. The goods will include both Biedronka’s own brand products and major external brands, while the offer will cover not only food products but also snacks, drinks, and ice cream. Customers will be able to use the Biedronka Express BIEK service seven days a week.

Ultra-fast delivery only from Glovo

As Luis Araujo, CEO of Biedronka explains, the strengthened partnership with Glovo will help to adapt to customers’ changing lifestyles and meet their growing expectations. On the other hand, according to Carlos Silván, CEO of Glovo Poland, the cooperation of the companies will make it possible to create an ultra-fast delivery service that is affordable. He stresses that such a service will only be available from Glovo. The Biedronka Express BIEK service is the next stage of a long-term partnership. Over the past 18 months, the two companies have been engaged in e-commerce development, and as a result of this work, many locations have been able to offer shopping in less than 60 minutes.

The new service will not affect the operating rules of Biedronka’s online shop in Glovo. The shop has been operating in 31 cities in Poland since April 2020, including Warsaw, Cracow, Gdansk, Poznan, and Katowice.
