The first CastoMat, i. e. Castorama’s own vending machine for collecting orders, is already operating at the store at Popularna Street in Warsaw. The chain does not hide that coronavirus pandemic was the stimulus to develop the system.

CastoMat issues orders directly on carts

According to the company in the communiqué, large increases in sales in the e-commerce channel and the growing popularity of the click & collect system have contributed to the acceleration of work on a solution that supports and facilitates shopping. At the same time, it was supposed to ensure safety and possibility of non-contact receipt of goods. This is how CastoMaty, Castorama’s own lockers were created.

As the company emphasises, CastoMaty is distinguished by the fact that completed orders are issued immediately on carts. This makes transporting and packing to the car easier. As in other machines of this kind, the order is collected by means of a PIN code. The whole process takes a few seconds.

Collection in two hours, 24/7

CastoMaty releases the goods ordered through the internet website. The collection of the goods is possible even within two hours of the order. Machines also enable the collection of large-size goods. The machines are to be located in such a way that it will be possible to collect the order around the clock.

Apart from CastoMats, the collection of goods ordered via the internet in Castorama is possible in the point of collection in the store, in InPost parcel machines and with courier delivery.
