IT Fashion Polska Group & Partners, a company running a chain of luxury clothing stores under the Moliera 2 brand, is for sale, according to unofficial information that Rzeczpospolita has reached.

The company refused to confirm this information, but in a statement sent to the newspaper it admitted that it has been approached by numerous investors for several years. It is therefore also considering various scenarios for further development.

Moliera 2 operates six stationary boutiques, two in Warsaw and one each in Poznan, Katowice, Zakopane and Sopot. The company is a distributor in Poland of such brands as Burberry, Balmain, Christian Louboutin, Moncler, Kenzo and Isabel Marant. It also has an online shop, which in recent months has recorded 400,000 visits per month (Similarweb data).

The popularity of luxury clothing is growing

According to PMR’s data, in Poland, the share of higher-priced clothing and footwear in the higher-priced segment will be around 15% in 2020, and by 2025 we forecast a gradual increase to over 16%. In turn, in recent years (2016-2019), the segment has recorded an increase of 2 p.p.

The development of this category is positively influenced by such factors as growing disposable income, translating into higher spending on more expensive fashion products, growing consumer awareness, their passion for luxury brands and Poland’s attractiveness among foreign brands.
