The IKEA chain has just introduced a new order option in the click&collect system in Poland. Skrytka IKEA has just been installed at the Lodz site. The new delivery method will be available for orders placed via the internet and will allow to collect purchases at the time chosen by the customer.

Skrytka IKEA works like InPost parcel machines. Visually, they resemble a band of boxes with each other. The largest locker can accommodate shopping on two platform trolleys – this means that it can also be used for larger orders. This is important because the price of preparing a package for collection is PLN 29, which can be a barrier price in case of small orders.

After placing the products in the order box, the customer will receive an SMS notification about the order waiting for him and a PIN code, which is the key to the box. In the following months the boxes are to appear next to the next Ikea shops, for example in November at IKEA Targowek in Warsaw.

The DIY networks, e.g. Bricomarche (BricoMaty) and Castorama (CastoMaty, which we have written more about here) have also decided to launch similar solutions this year.
