Castorama Polska, the DIY retailer, announced on 10 June that it has launched an online marketplace with home improvement services, called NeedHelp.  For the moment it is a pilot, available to customers in two cities, Warsaw and Siedlce, with plans to expand to other cities.

Available at castorama.needhelp.com, it connects customers who need assistance with their home improvement projects with professional tradespeople and other skilled experts, vetted by Castorama Polska.

-This is the future of the market. It is a natural step towards building a more complete services offer, towards creating a service-orientated customer experience – said Beniamin Shoen, director of customer and digital at Castorama Polska.

NeedHelp was founded in 2014 in France. It is one of the leading marketplaces of its type in Europe. Castorama’s parent company, Kingfisher, acquired NeedHelp in November 2020. At the time, it said it planned to roll out the platform quickly in the UK and Poland, leveraging its extensive store network in these markets. Castorama Polska opened its first store in 1997, and now has 87.
