PMR survey: Purchases of decorative articles are usually planned
According to PMR survey, among respondents who has bought decorative articles in the last 12 months preceding the survey, most of them declared that they bought these products in advance. We plan to buy carpets more often than carpets and rugs.
7 out of 10 respondents plan to purchase floor coverings in advance
According to a PMR survey conducted in January 2020, over half of Poles purchased decorative articles (e.g. frames, carpets, floor coverings, curtains) in the last 12 months preceding the survey.
The vast majority of respondents who bought a floor covering during the year preceding the survey (77% decided to make a planned purchase). Only 23% of respondents decided to make a spontaneous purchase. What is interesting, no significant differences can be seen due to the sex – a difference of 2 p.p. in favour of women making planned purchases. Spontaneous purchases were more often made by younger people, aged 35-54 (36% in relation to 7% of people over 55) and urban residents (26%).
More often we plan to buy carpets
Respondents who bought a carpet in the last year more often planned this purchase – 59%. What is more, no significant differences can be seen due to the sex – a difference of 4 p.p. in favour of women making planned purchases and the place of residence (2 p.p. in favour of the city). In the case of this category – opposite to carpets – younger people (aged 18-34) more often declare a planned purchase (64%).
